Family Favorite, Lowdermilk Park

Sea
May through September many nesting sea turtles travel to Florida's Coast to feed and nest, or lay eggs.
Click here for more Facts About Sea Turtles.

Naples is known for its lush tropical canopy and white-sand beaches. Lowdermilk Beach is that in a family friendly way. Yes it's beautiful too.

Grass is something you normally don't get to enjoy at the beach. Lowdermilk Beach has acres of grass just foot steps away. Great for families to play on and still have the beach right there.

The Park offers areas for Family cook-outs or family reunion and lovers too. Children's playground, volleyball courts and horseshoe pits are available.

A great place to watch Sunsets too. You have a choice to watch sunsets with sand between your toes or enjoy the lush green grass and drop a blanket down under the tropical trees.

Lowdermilk beach is popular with the locals for the same reasons that visitors like Lowdermilk. Location, location and location with lots of parking, food concessions, restrooms and playgrounds for children and adults.

Arrive early if you want one of those prize Tiki Hut's. It does get hot in the summer.

Another reason Lowdermilk is one of my favorite Florida beaches is this park is so usable. Grass area provides a playground for the kiddies, sand volleyball courts, gazbo, pavilion, bathhouse and concession stand.

People getting together for a beach party or picnics. Sand volleyball court. Lots of shade for protected lounging.

There are two gazebo’s located at Lowdermilk Park for rent. One is located at the north end of the park and the other is located at the south end of the park.

Both gazebos are the same size but there is more land available around the south gazebo for larger rentals. The north gazebo is next to the sand volleyball courts and the childrens playground.

Metered and non-metered parking. Like most Collier County beach areas, parking is free with a county permit.

Getting there: Head west on Banyan Boulevard in Naples until it meets Gulfshore Boulevard and the beach entrance is right there.Parking: Metered parking lot but free for Collier County residents with a beach parking permit.Facilities:There are restrooms, showers, concessions and picnic tables. Hours: Sunrise to sunset.

Naples Lovers Lane you say? Are there more than one?
What makes a good Lovers Lane?

Discover why Lovers Key is one of favorite Florida beaches for lovers. First priority is seclusion. Next is a beautiful view or surroundings. Bring music or have natural habitat soothing sounds like waves crashing on to the beach.

Watch out in May to October if you like to walk the beach in the swallows. If you do you must learn the "The Shuffle".

HOT FISH I.D.'s
Summer is upon us, and there's no better time for women to go out, cast a line ....Check out these fantastic catches by these ladies. Isn’t it time for a vacation! Just click the link. Have fun and hopefully you will send us yours or your significant others picture and story.

This is Bonita Dog Park, on the north shore of New Pass, where dogs are allowed off-leash. The beach is actually a sandbar surrounded by water on three sides, and the entire park encompasses five acres between Bonita Beach and Fort Myers Beach. Dogs and their people walk down a path through the mangroves that opens out to a wide stretch of sand, with views of the Gulf and Lovers Key Park.

One of the best places in Southwest Florida Bonita Beach to catch the sunset. The same shell bits that make barefoot strollers wish they had flip flops almost glow at sunset, mimicking the pastel pink and salmon hues cast upon the Gulf of Mexico nearly every evening. Doc's Beach House is a popular eatery. The county-run park at the south end of the beach offers showers, picnic areas and grills.

Fort Myers Beach is a active, young, fast pace and live music beach community. You can't hike or bicycle around here. Okay you could but car traffic would make this activity dangerous. There's no Eco-touring here. There are no mangrove forest, tidal basin, or estuaries. I've never seen anyone shorefish here but you will see many boats anchored 50 feet off the beach.

My Favorite - Vanderbilt Beach

Vanderbilt Beach on the other hand screams "BEACH!"

Visit...See for your self why visitors and residents from all over the world come to visit and live at
Vanderbilt Beach.

A beach community (like Sanibel-Captiva, Venice or Cape Cod) like no other and one of the most popular Beaches on the Paradise Coast.

The Ritz Carlton, Laplaya, the Turtle Club, Edgewater Beach Resort and others are neighbors yet, you will also find the Lighthouse Motel (a sixty's era motel - spotless and clean) and the inexpensive but great Buzz's Lighthouse Restaurant on the inter-coastal opposite the Beach..

It has the feel of a beach community.

Life stresses slowly become manageable allowing you to recharge your batteries and find that fun place you have been looking for desperately.

Let's see....Sunny days on the beach, world class restaurants and entertainment just footsteps away, its a no brainer.
No car necessary.

Pizza by the slice, burgers, clubs sandwiches, smoothies and more are available directly across Vanderbilt Beach Access.

Everything you could possibly need is available.

For beach stuff say hello to Nick at Dan's Cabana, he sells and rent everything you could possibly need at the beach.

As the sun sets on another day in paradise the beach invites you to join others to watch another romantic sunset.

Take the hand of your loved one, whisper that words that often go unsaid and reconnect together!

Torches on Vanderbilt Beach at the Ritz Carlton. A neigbhor of Vanderbilt Beach.

(One of the least expensive properties to stay at in Naples located on the intercoastal waterway across from the beach - With boat access - a great spot to have lunch with water views, the Lighthouse Motel's Restaurant "Buzz's" as you spend your day cruising the Gulf/Intercaostal waters)

Also across the street is Buzz's Lighthouse Restaurant.

You gotta try Buzz’s located also on the inter-coastal. Buzz’s can be reached by boat.

They serve fresh seafood fare, large sandwiches and handmade burgers at more than reasonable prices. How about Maine Lobster (not large) but at $14.95 who's complaining. The view is nautical and atmosphere relaxed and tropical.

Keewaydin Island - Cleanup Video Keewaydin Island, which is between Gordon Pass and Marco Island is a special place, a sanctuary for wildlife and a recreational destination for local residents and tourists. Community volunteers were brought over to the island on the Sweet Liberty and dropped off at different points on the island to assist in the clean up. The 8-mile-long island is one of southwest Florida’s largest unbridged barrier islands. Least terns and loggerhead sea turtles use the island’s pristine beach as a vital nesting ground. People also enjoy the island, which provides a great opportunity to experience Florida’s natural coast. Thousands of boaters visit the island each year.
