Everglades Airboat Tours Welcome!
I'm Mitch House, owner of Everglades Private Airboat Tours (EPAT). My family has been in this area for about 150 years . We originally settled on the Flamingo Islands, now the Everglades National Park Eastern gateway. We now reside in Everglades City.
I personally have been in the industry since I was knee-high to a bullfrog. I ended up following in the footsteps of my great grandfather, Barrel Head House, who had one of the first commercial airboats used as a fishing guide in the Flamingo and Florida Bay areas.
I've been involved in the tourist industry for 18 years here in Everglades City, the last 10 of those in the airboat business.
We know that your time at EPAT will be one of your cherished memories of your Florida experience, whether you are visitng or a year-round resident. We'll see you soon!
Dome Homes Cape Romano is located about 5 1/2 miles south of Marco Island...the only way there is by sea or air (no landing strips or pads, but I have seen a private chopper land on a nearby sandbar!). The southwestern peninsula and part of the Gullivan Bay side of the island has a great beach, and is used by many a day camper. The island is also popular with campers and fishermen can be seen regularly just offshore. There is a "dome house" on the island, a privately owned structure that has been heavily damaged by storms - it is uninhabitated & boarded up, take care walking around it as some "party" types have left plenty of broken glass piled up near the house. Fishing is great here, but if you camp out for the night, be ready for mosquitos! I personally would not swim in the waters, having seen more than a few sharks in the vicinity,

Silverspot Cinema at Mercato
Introducing a new movie going experience
11 theaters equipped with state of the art digital sound, leather seats and reserved seating, creating a lush environment where you'll enjoy films like never before. With a full restaurant & lounge, you'll come out feeling like you went on vacation.
Naples is finally treating cinema with the respect it deserves at Silverspot. For now, it shows mainstream films daily, and will host the fledgling Naples Internatl Film Fest in Nov. I'd like to see it really break out of the local, duct-taped box and offer live simulcast events - Academy Award night / Natl elections / that sort of thing. For now, I fear for the survival of films offered after 7PM since the town's in bed by 8. (There were only two people in the 9:30 screening that I went to last week.) I also think it's a riot that the seats are the fatA** size of a mini sofa. That alone will continue to be a crowd pleaser. For now, let's get some indies & foreign bookings, gentes!

Naples Zoo, Caribbean Gardens A natural pathway winds around the 52-acre area, encompassing about a mile of trails. Enormous ficus trees provide a sprawling green canopy over the paths, providing shade and enhancing the feeling of being in another country. The trees and plants are labeled like a walking botany lesson. And binoculars are unnecessary for viewing the animal exhibits. Sometimes, they're just steps away. The variety of wildlife living in this botanical oasis is remarkable. Residents include African lions, kangaroos, zebras, exotic cats, leopards and American.
The Naples Zoo is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily, with the last ticket sold at 4:30 p.m. On the first Saturday of every month, 12 times a year, Collier County residents receive free zoo admission all day long
Everglades City Everglades (also known as Everglades City) is a city in Collier County, Florida, United States. The population was 479 at the 2000 census. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 513.
"Everglades City proclaims itself as the Gateway to the 10,000 Islands, and for paddlers that is most certainly true. It is one end of the Wilderness Waterway, the famous Everglades backcountry route linking Everglades City to Flamingo. It is the best place in the 10,000 Islands to rent canoes or kayaks, hook up with a guided paddling excursion, or find a comfortable room from which to base your explorations of Big Cypress National Preserve, Everglades National Park, and Fakahatchee Strand State Preserve. It even has a tiny airport, so you can fly in or book a float plane tour to get a bird's-eye view of the islands before putting your paddle to the water.
